Trust in God, He is with you Psalm 57 - Commentary

For the director of music. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." Of David. When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,
for in you my soul takes refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.

2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who fulfills {his purpose} for me.

3 He sends from heaven and saves me,
rebuking those who hotly pursue me;
Selah
God sends his love and his faithfulness.

4 I am in the midst of lions;
I lie among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

6 They spread a net for my feet—
I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
but they have fallen into it themselves.
Selah

7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.

8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.

9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.

10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

Footnotes:

1. Psalm 57:1 Title: Probably a literary or musical term

We understand from the heading that Psalm 57 is written by David, when he fled from King Saul to the cave where he hide from King Saul and his army who were trying to catch him. From the first verse

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,
for in you my soul takes refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.

we can understand that he was in a terrible situation. He calls it as a disaster. He is asking to god for a deliverance from this disaster.

Let us look at the life of David. He was a country boy. A good Shepard of his fathers sheep. He was happily doing his duty. Taking care of his father's sheep. He has a harp. He loved to ply it and sing praise to God in his spare time. His life was going smooth. There was nothing to bother about. No tension. No problems. His brothers are healthy and were serving in the army of of King Saul. They were good fighters who are good in using Sward and spears. They have status and symbol in the society. But David was the youngest Son of Mr. Jesse of Bethlehem. Life was going good till the time the prophet Samuel came to his home town.

Prophet Samuel called Jesse and his sons for the Sacrifice when he came to Bethlehem. Then Samuel consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice. When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD." But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, "The LORD has not chosen this one either." Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, "Nor has the LORD chosen this one." Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, "The LORD has not chosen these." So he asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?" "There is still the youngest," Jesse answered, "but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said, "Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives." So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one."So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah. (1st Samuel 16)

Here we can see the father Jesse let David in the field to look after the sheep. There was a important function in the town and the prophet invited them for the sacrifice. Jesse thought about his elder sons and brought them with him for the sacrifice. They were grown up and have good understanding. They were fighters. So he was proud to bring them along with him for the sacrifice. But he never give any importance to David his young child. He was in the field. Tending the sheep. Everyone thought that let him do the duty. Someone needs to be there to look after the sheep. What is the point in bringing him for the sacrifice. Everyone tried to keep him behind the seen. But God was looking for not the gown up fighters. God also asked to Prophet Samuel not to look at the outward appearance. In this world, people always look at the outward appearance. Prophet Samuel also tried to judge according to the outward appearance. Suddenly God intervened and stopped the prophet from anointing Eliab and informed him that God is not looking at outward appearance. God knows everyone, inside out. We cannot hide from God. God knows who you are and what is in your mind. He is not looking at what you are wearing or doing. He is not looking whether you are able to use laptop or mobile or expensive car etc. He just looking at your heart. How it is and what is in it. If it is clear and humble and simple, God loves it. God is chosen you to be his anointed one. Not for a simple thing. But to be the ruler of Israel. Let us examine our heart. How is it. Is it pure and humble. Is it love God. Is it find happiness in worshiping him. Is it love to follow His decrees. Is it love righteousness. Is it a loving heart. Love for all creatures. Love for everyone. If it is so, God will bless it. David's father and brothers tried to hide him behind the seen. But God has a plan for him. So he brought him out from the behind to the front. If God has a plan for you, He will bring you out to the front.

David has a good heart. God was pleased with his heart and thoughts. David has the courage to trust in the Lord. Who anointed him to be the ruler of Israel. He had a good relationship with God.

At first it was going well with David. First it was a job in King Saul's Palace, playing harp, then meeting the champion named Goliath, then the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with tambourines and lutes. As they danced, they sang:
"Saul has slain his thousands,
and David his tens of thousands."

It was nice to hear women singing praise. They came out to meet him with flowers and dancing. But the problem started from here. King Saul the most powerful man of Israel, once a friend and leader turned his foe now. Then the situation got changed in a moment and David call this situation a disaster.

That is why in the first verse he crying to God that “Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,” Again he says to God that “for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”

Yes now he is in a crisis which he calls a disaster.

Again David says, “I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills {his purpose} for me.” Really these words of David shook me. It shows his relationship with God. In this time of crisis David knows that God has a purpose for his life. All these troubles and problems are part of Gods purpose for Davids life.

When we go through the troubles and tribulations, what we think about it. Unless we have a good relation with God we won't be able to understand the purpose of these troubles. We all go through may troubles like being sick, financial problems, family problems, Problems with children, Debt, loss of loved ones, pain in the body or heart so on and so forth. Our friends will turn to our foes. Our parents will turn us down. But the question is shall we able to understand or identify the purpose of all these things. God has a plan and purpose for your life. Are we patient enough to wait and see the outcome of these troubles (or disaster in the words of David).

Let us see what David says at verse 3 “He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; God sends his love and his faithfulness.” Ha! What an assurance he has? He says that God's love and faithfulness will save him and also God will rebuke those who hotly pursue him. God wants to give this same assurance to me and you. For that we need to have that heart and the relationship what David had with God.

Let us now examine ourselves. Whether we are having this kind relationship with God which David had? Do we have the hart to trust God fully and blindly? If yes, let me tell you, this assurance is for you.

Again David says the words of his faith: “I am in the midst of lions; I lie among ravenous beasts— men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. They spread a net for my feet— I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path— but they have fallen into it themselves.”

From verse 7 onwards David says what he is going to do form now onwards: My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. 8 Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. 9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. 10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. 11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

What an attitude. I love this Psalm due to this attitude and trust of David in God. I request my readers, please be pure in your heart and trust in God. And God will give you the courage and strength to overcome all your troubles and tribulations. He will be able to deliver you from all your disasters. Trust in God, He is with you.

History of Houseboats in Kerala.

Origin: Kerala is blessed with back waters and rich with man made and natural canals. Vembanad lake covering an area of 200 km and boarded by cities like Ernakulam (Cochin), Alappuzha (earlier it was known as Alleppey) and Kottayam. There was water route from Cochin to Kollam (Earlier it was know as Quilon) around 200 km. Kettuvallams were used to transport goods in bulk quantity from city to city. It has a carrying capacity of three truck load of goods. It would take 10 days to a full month to complete the journey. These cargo boats were mostly depend on wind. When there is no wind the boatman use long bamboo pols to move the boat. Normally there will be three to four boatman in a boat during the voyage. One stand in the front and the other in the back to push the boat forward. The other two will be preparing food and taking rest. Once the two get tired, the other two take charge and continue the voyage. If there is wind they put up the rig and open the canvas for sailing. This is a temporary arrangement and can be dismantle the same if there is no wind or if the wind is in opposite direction. There was no machine powered boats in that time. This mode of transportation was very cheap and convenient as most of the cities can be reached through canals. These cargo boats played a vital role in the economical development of ancient Kerala. There were approximate 5000 Kettuvallams which were used for moving cargo from different cities. “Kettu” means tie and “vallam” of “Vallom” means boat. The hull is a series of wooden planks, long cut and carved by the expert hands of the carpenter, tied together using coir with coconut fibers stuffed in between.

Due to the development in the road and rail transport facilities, these traditional slow mode of water transportation came to and end. People preferred speed over charm. Big size boats were of no use and many of the employees were losing their job as boatman. These boat repairing men and boat builders were out of work and those who were depend on these industry were in fear of losing their job. At this time someone came with the idea of turning this boat into Houseboat. At first it was in Alappuzha the houseboat came into life. It gradually developed and the tourism in Kerala came with the idea of house boat and turned these big boats into house boats equipped with diesel powered engine. It turned to be a success and found more profitable than the traditional water transportation. Many old boats which were useless bought from the boat owners in a cheap rate and transformed it into Houseboats. Also many boat owners turned their boats into houseboats. Houseboat designers came with new designs like one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom houseboats. Also the inside and outside of these houseboats transformed to match the five star hotel rooms to attract foreign tourists. Now it become the one of the major business in the Alappuzha District. Many travel agents in and outside India earning commission for promoting these Houseboats.

During the course of time it turned out to be a multi million dollar business and many depend on this business for their livelihood. The rich backwaters, lakes and canals in Kerala and the beauty of “god's own country” attract many foreign tourists for boating and cruise overnight in the backwaters.

Never Argue With A Fool – They Will Drag You Down To Their Level, Then Beat You With

Never Argue With A Fool – They Will Drag You Down To Their Level, Then Beat You With
Do you feel like every time you get involved in an argument, you have got to win? If you know that someone is wrong, and you have a solution, do you feel like, you’ve to argue with them until they embrace your point? You can try, but if the person you’re arguing with is a fool, you will be hitting your head against a rock! It won’t work.

You don’t need to win an argument. If someone doesn’t want to listen to you, leave them be. If you tell them your point, and they don’t want to listen, keep quiet and let it go! I admit there are some who need a little convincing to get your point, but there are those who are simply fools, who take pride in arguing; believing they are always right. Don’t waste your time with those.

I’ll admit, there are some arguments that are constructive, when both parties are seeking a solution. Those kinds of arguments are rewarding. Both parties will be helping each other to come out with a better solution. But, in most cases, people argue for the sake of arguing. Arguing for the sake of arguing, is a waste of time.

There are people in this world you just need to ignore if they behave or act in a foolish manner. They take pride in making other people angry. They enjoy winning arguments no matter how wrong or ignorant they might be. Some of them know which buttons to press to get you angry, and if you decide to argue with them, you’ll be heading towards their trap.

Fools like to see you getting angry, swearing, speaking negative words or getting involved in a fight with them. They do what they do fully aware that they’re tickling you to get upset. Trying to argue with those guys, thinking they might get your point or understand how you do things, will not work. Don’t try to prove anything to them. Your only solution is to watch, listen, observe and keep your mouth shut.

If you feel tempted to answer to a fool, don’t do it. Ignore them, even if you feel like screaming to them. Your silence will prevent you from converting to their cult of foolishness. If you argue with a fool, you’ll become a fool just like them, and you’ll make a fool of yourself!

Some people, you just have to let them be. Let them behave the way they do, let them say whatever they want to say against you, let them go behind your back and say all those lies about you. You don’t need to fight them. That’s exactly what they will be looking for from you. Don’t even go around trying to justify yourself to the world about your innocence. Leave it like that.

IT IS BEST TO BE THOUGHT A FOOL….THEN SPEAK AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT……

Learn a great habit of keeping your mouth shut whenever a fool is in front of you. Let them do the talking, and you do the ignoring!

Money has no Memory.............

Money has no memory. Experience has. You will never know what was the total cost of your education, but for a lifetime you will recall and relive the memories of schools and colleges. Few years from now, you will forget the amount you paid to settle the hospitalization bill, but will ever cherish having saved your mother's life or the life you get to live with the just born. You won't remember the cost of your honeymoon, but to the last breath remember the experiences of the bliss of togetherness. Money has no memory. Experience has.

Good times and bad times, times of prosperity and times of poverty, times when the future looked so secure and times when you didn't know from where the tomorrow will come. life has been in one way or the other a roller-coaster ride for everyone. Beyond all that abundance and beyond all that deprivation, what remains is the memory of experiences. Sometimes the wallet was full, sometimes even the pocket was empty. There was enough and you still had reasons to frown. There wasn't enough and you still had reasons to smile. Today, you can look back with tears of gratitude for all the times you had laughed together, and also look back with a smile at all the times you cried alone. All in all, life filled you with experiences to create a history of your own self, and you alone can remember them all.

The first time you balanced yourself on your cycle without support

The first gift you bought for your parents and the first gift your sibling gave you

The first award the first public appreciation the first stage speech

The first day in college the first day at work the first adventure

And the list is endless Experiences, with timeless memory

No denying that anything that's material costs money; still the fact remains the cost of the experience will be forgotten, but the experience will never be.

So, what if it's economic recession? Let it be, but let there not be a recession to the quality of your life. You can still take your parents & grand parents, if not on a pilgrimage, at least to the local temple. You can still play with your children, if not on an international holiday, at least in the local park. It doesn't cost money to lie down or to take a loved one onto your lap. Nice time to train the employees, create leadership availability and be ready for the wonderful times when they arrive. Hey! Aspects like your health, knowledge development and spiritual growth are not economy dependent.

Time will pass economy will revive currency will soon be in current and in all this, I don't want you to look back and realize you did nothing but stayed in gloom.

Recession can make you lose out on money. Let it not make you lose out on experiences. If you are not happy with what you have, no matter how much more you have, you will still not be happy.

Make a statement with the way you live your life: How I feel has nothing to do with how much I have.

No Activity, No Achievement!

Small Deeds Done Are Better Than Great Deeds Planned

Activity, Activity, Activity; that’s your key to any form of success. Activity always pays, remember that! Without activity, you won’t go anywhere: you will be like a goat tied to a tree going round and round in circles, still getting back to the same place!

Have you been meaning to:

Join the gym?

Tidy that room?

Write that book?

Paint the house?

Build that website?

Start that business?

Create that product?

Learn that language?

Start an exercise program?

Call that prospective client?

Apply & Enrol at the university?

Take someone away for a short break?

Have you been wondering why you haven’t achieved anything of significance yet? Your Problem is; You’re Lacking Activity in your endeavors! No Activity, No Achievement! If you don’t do, you won’t get. Can you harvest grain even though you didn’t plant anything? I don’t think so!

You need to get going, you need to get started and when I say get started, I mean get started! No more putting things off for later or when you feel like you want to. You need to get started now! There is no point of speaking about it, telling everyone about it, planning it and doing nothing!

If you don’t act, your life will remain the same, conditions will remain the same and your results will be the same. No Activity, No Success!

Your only option is to take massive action!

Pascal’s Night of Fire

Pascal’s Night of Fire

Blaise Pascal was an influential scientist who lived in the 1600’s. He was something of a genius. For example, at the age of twelve, even before he had received any formal training in geomoetry, Pascal independently discovered and demonstrated Euclid’s thirty-two propositions. Pascal was also a Christian.

When he died in 1662 his servant found a small piece of parchment sewn into his coat. At the top of the paper Pascal had drawn a cross. Underneath the cross were these words:

In the year of the Lord 1654
Monday, November 23
From about half-past ten in the evening until half-past twelve.
Fire
God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob
Not of philosophers nor of the scholars.
Certitude. Certitude. Feeling. Joy, Peace.
God of Jesus Christ,
My God and thy God.
"Thy God shall be my God."
Forgetfulness of the world and of everything, except God.
He is to be found only by the ways taught in the Gospel.
Greatness of the soul of man.
"Righteous Father, the world hath not known thee,
but I have known thee."
Joy, joy, joy, tears of joy.
Jesus Christ.
I have fallen away: I have fled from Him,
denied Him, crucified him.
May I not fall away forever.
We keep hold of him only by the ways taught in the Gospel.
Renunciation, total and sweet.
Total submission to Jesus Christ and to my director.
Eternally in joy for a day’s exercise on earth.
I will not forget Thy word. Amen.

That was Pascal’s record of an intense two-hour religious experience that he kept secret until his death. It was an experience of God that gripped his soul and changed the course of his life. He stored his record of it in the lining of his coat, close to his heart. For eight years he took care to sew and unsew it every time he changed his coat. It was a treasured experience, something he could return to again and again.
Similarly, we can take those experiences of God that we have - transforming moments - and hang onto them as gifts from God to energize and motivate our faith.

How to Develop the Drive of a Genius

Steve Jobs has a secret.

If you don't recognize his name, he's the CEO of Apple Computer and Pixar Animation Studios (creator of the first computer animated feature film, Toy Story).

By any standards, he is a very successful man. Not just in the business world, but at home as well. The great thing about amazing success like his is that it leaves clues.

What do I mean? Let me explain a little further.

Steve Jobs is driven. He's someone who can pick a goal and feel powerfully motivated to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Now, wouldn't you like to be able to do that?

I'm guessing you would, but the truth is that a most driven people either don't know what motivates them or never get the chance to personally share their secrets with us.

Steve Jobs is different.

Some time ago he gave a commencement speech at Stanford University, and in the last part of his talk he told the students his secret, the principle that kept him going with such passion and power.

I want to share it with you today so you can enjoy the same kind of success and happiness.

When the Idea Hit Him

At just 17 years old, Jobs read a quote that really hit home, so much so that it changed the way he looked at his life forever. As he recalled in his speech, it went
something like this...

'If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right.'

In other words, you're not going to live forever. Most people avoid this truth like the plague, but that's the worst mistake you can make because it's one of the most
powerful tools you can use to live a truly remarkable life.

There are so many things you want to do, but because of fear, you aren't going after them like you know you could be.

You're holding back, sticking to your comfort zone to avoid failure, embarrassment, and pain. But as Steve Jobs put it,these fears fall away when faced with the fact that one day you'll run out of chances to go for it.

And he's right.

You may be afraid of going all out, but if you really think about it, I believe you're more afraid of never giving it a try at all. The only problem is that we don't think about it that way. We like to fool ourselves into believing that we have forever and a day to do the things we want to do.

We don't.

When Succeeding Feels Like Failure, Here's Why

Did you ever wonder why people with less smarts than you,
less experience than you, who aren't as good looking as
you, who are a lot younger than you, with less education
than you achieve more, do more, have more, give more, and
enjoy themselves more than you do?

OK, yes, some of them have the brown-nosing thing down
pat, but that only takes a person so far. And it's not
very far, in the big scheme of things.

Allow me to share with you a bit of the puzzle...

The buzz word now in the personal development/self help
field today is 'automatically.' "As in, I'll teach you
about wealth and then money will 'automatically' be
attracted to you" Or "I'll teach you how to eat in a way
that the pounds will 'automatically' fall off you."

Okie dokie.

But does that happen?

Not usually.

Only IF you were to learn and apply whatever is being
sold, indeed, these desired results would automaticaly
happen.

But not just by osmosis.

You see, we buy hundreds of 'how-to' programs for our
research, we subscribe to hundreds of newsletters, and I
know personally hundreds of people from hundreds of
companies that sell them. Good products. Good companies.
Good people.

But I need to tell you straight...

None of it happens automatically.

Primarily because no matter what you know, success at
EVERYTHING takes more than knowledge of what to do.

Because if just knowing WHAT to do guaranteed success,
everyone who graduates from college would be massively
successful, everyone who takes any home-study courses will
be an expert on the topic, psychotherapy would make
everyone feel super fantastic and be done with it in a
month or two.

But none of this is true.

Because belief systems put limits on what you do and what
we can achieve, no matter how intelligent you are.

Attitudes stop you from reaching higher even though the
success you want is within your grasp.

Conflicting emotions can make the easiest decisions and
tasks feel nearly impossible.

Self defeating thoughts just "pop in" at the last second
to wipe out certain victory.

One of the biggest culprits is fear of success.

Why on earth would anyone fear success?

Hundreds of reasons.

Like:

- My family gives me **** about the way I eat, dress, talk
- Friends don't treat me the same anymore
- I have way too many responsibilities now
- I'm forced to work with people I hate
- I "never" get to see my family, friends, etc anymore
- I can't ever eat X food on this plan
- I don't feel right living in this big house, neighborhood
- I'd have to speak in public... no way
- It's too risky
- The pressure of performing/winning will be too great
- Everyone will treat me differently
- I'll be seen as a greedy money-grubber
- I won't like myself if I get everything I want

In fact, we uncovered just a tad under 800 core reasons
that can make success at any venture feel like failure.

There are easily over 3,000 other peripheral/ associated
implications that can be real or conjured up in the mind
relating to the "negatives" about succeeding in the various
areas or roles of life.

And they all make succeeding feel like failing.

Just one, suddenly being different than your friends, is
enough all by itself to keep you from going for some really
juicy goal.

Smokers keep going because their friends do it.

Fat people stay fat because if they would lose the shared
experience of eating with their fat friends.

Leaving our broke friends behind is often the single
biggest reason for keeping our own financial situation just
the way it is.

All these "fear of success" failure patterns play out in
every single area of life.

That means that it's devastating.

Fear of success, whatever caused it and keeps it alive in
your mind is easily one of the most common and most
detrimental of all the reasons why people don't become more
in their lifetimes.

There is simply no better, faster, easier method for
rising above the limiting invisible, yet very real, beliefs
that keep you from being the person you dreamed about many
years ago.

And if eliminating your limiting automatic responses to
decisions and activities that would bring you more
accomplishment, joy and rewards weren't enough.

Because if growth isn't THE purpose of life, it's right up
there on the list.

New Idea - Build and maintain contract for Road.

In India building and maintains the road is the one of the most important area where there is immediate attention is required. Our government build very good roads in our country by spending a lot of money but forget to build good drainage system along side the road, which is costing a lot of money as well as inconvenience to the users of these roads.

When the monsoon (Rainy season) comes, our beautiful roads will become gutters due to lack of proper drainage system. Then the commuters have to use this bad road for next few months. Then our government will repair the road before the next monsoon. Than again the road will become pools in the monsoon. This cycle is continuing year after year. The only one who benefit from this process is the contractor who build the road.

Can't we find a solution for this disease.

I have an Idea. My idea is that while giving tender for building road, it needs to be a mandatory to make provision for proper drainage along side the road. I think it is better to give contract for "build and maintain road contract" for 2year, 5 year or 10 year. Which will not only allow them to design and build good road with quality material, which will last for years. I have seen roads which is lasting for many years without any maintenance or minor maintenance. Also I have seen roads which has a life time of 3 or 4 months. Why is this difference. We need to find out.

In "build and maintain road contract" the contractor needs to keep the road clean and beautiful. It is worth to give some extra money so that he can employ sweepers to clean the road. Private participation in building and maintaining road will improve the life of the road, which will reduce the inconvenience to the commuters.

I put forward this idea for your kind consideration.

Let us hope for a better India and Better roads.

New Idea - Stop wasting energy

.

After having a good sleep in the night I woke up in the morning at 6.00 am. While brushing my teeth I noticed though the window, in the park there are lot of people doing exercise. Some of them walking, some of them jumping up and down. There are different people doing different kind of exercise. Every one in the park are trying to burn the calories.

They eat good food in the morning noon and night also had snacks in between. Now they want to burn the energy. May be they are working in a office, where minimum physical work is required. Most of them are not in good shape also. So they need to do something to burn the energy as well as to get a good shape. This kind of work out is not required for the people who do physical work during the day. Also most of them who do physical work are in good shape.

But it is very strange to see that those who are coming to walk in the park are coming by car or motorcycle. Why don't they come by foot and save energy. I can't understand this myth. If you know please tell me.

When I give a thought about exercising, I got an idea which can not only burn energy, but also this energy can save and convert it into another energy. My idea is that if we set up a gymnasium, with equipments which can change the human energy into electricity and sell it into the market which will give return to the gym as well as the people using it.

You may ask how? While using a exerciser bike, we can attach it to a electricity generator which produce electricity. People should come forward to design different types of such machines which attached to generator for doing different kinds of exercises. (That is the job of people who know the technology and designing)

The gymnasiums and parks where people waste their energy (burning calories) is a national waste and we need to stop it at the earliest by introducing new exercising machines which will convert human energy in to mechanical or electrical energy. If we start such project, the people can get a share of the energy they produced, which will motivate them to do it regularly and be in a good shape. It also reduce sickness and wast of money for medicine. Imagine a situation, people around us are in good health and shape while earning some extra income. It will not only motivate people to do their exercise regularly but also bring their friends also in to a habit of doing exercise which will reduce unhealthy citizens in our country. I hope very soon there will be advertisements like "Get paid for doing exercise" or "Earn money while being in good health" etc.

Let us extract energy from the food we eat. Don't allow it to go waste.

I putting forward this wonderful idea in front of the people who know technology so that this dream may come true.

Choose to Be Happy at Work

Happiness is largely a choice. I can hear many of you arguing with me, but it's true. You can choose to be happy at work. Sound simple? Yes. But, simplicity is often profoundly difficult to put into action. I wish all of you had the best employer in the world, but, face it, you may not. So, think positively about your work. Dwell on the aspects of your work you like. Avoid negative people and gossip. Find coworkers you like and enjoy and spend your time with them. Your choices at work largely define your experience. You can choose to be happy at work.

Cute Questions asked by Kids

She was in the bathroom, putting on her makeup, under the watchful eyes of her young granddaughter as she'd done many times before. After she applied her lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Gramma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!"
******

My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, "62." He was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"
*******

After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed into old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin. Finally, she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"
*******
A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like: "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The little girl was wide-eyed, taking this all in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!"
*******

My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, "Grandma, do you know how you and God are alike?" I mentally polished my halo while I asked, "No, how are we alike?"
"You're both old," he replied.
*******

A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word processor. She told him she was writing a story. "What's it about?" he asked. "I don't know," she replied. "I can't read."
*******

I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colors yet, so I decided to test her. I would point out something and ask what color it was. She would tell me and was always correct. It was fun for me, so I continued. At last she headed for the door, saying sagely, "Grandma, I think you should try to figure out some of these yourself!"
*******

When my grandson Billy and I entered our vacation cabin, we kept the lights off until we were inside to keep from attracting pesky insects. Still, a few fireflies followed us in. Noticing them before I did, Billy whispered, "It's no use, Grandpa. The mosquitoes are coming after us with flashlights."
*******

When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa," he advised. "mine says I'm four to six."
*******

A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother, "Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today." The grandmother, more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. "That's interesting," she said, "how do you make babies?" "It's simple," replied the girl. "You just change 'y' to 'I and add 'es'."
*******

Children's Logic: "Give me a sentence about a public servant," said a teacher. The small boy wrote: "The fireman came down the ladder pregnant." The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. "Don't you know what pregnant means?" she asked. "Sure," said the young boy confidently. "It means carrying a child."
*******

A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties.
"They use him to keep crowds back," said one child.
"No," said another, "he's just for good luck."
A third child brought the argument to a close. "They use the dogs,"
She said firmly, "to find the fire hydrants...

Embracing Free Will: Navigating Temptation and Choice

I questioned God why I was born without the inclination to sin. His response was clear: the choice to sin or not lies with me. Adam, too, wa...
