House husband

Many of the times I noticed that women say about their occupation as "house wife". But hardly heard about the term "house husband" as an occupation. I did a google search and find many stories about househusband.

As women started to consider their career above the family, it became a necessity for their husbands to take up the job of raising the children and cooking and home making.  As men are more focused, they take up the job of house husband and did well than any women can possibly do that. As women become successful in jobs designed for men, men also became successful in
jobs women traditionally did.

Look at five star hotels, you will find mostly men in the kitchen doing all the cooking. Men are best at cooking. It is a fact and we cannot deny it. There is a misconception that only women can do the cooking effectively. Men proved that they are better than women in cooking by employing themselves as cooks.

When we come to washing, it is also treated traditionally the job of women. But men proved that they can do a better job than any women in this world with regard to laundry. So men are not hesitant to take up the job of washing and pressing the cloths.

In case of cleaning too, we find better cleaners in men than in women. If you carefully look at the work of a women, you will find they lack many good qualities of a professional male cleaner.

I explained few areas where men can do well. But in reality men are all rounders and can do each and every work which are traditionally done by women.

Only one draw back of the men is that he cannot do the child birth and breast feeding. It is a god given gifts to women only.  Actually it is a curse from God for eating the forbidden fruit.

India won the West Indies five-match series by 4-1

Manoj Tiwary's first century helped India to win the final one-day international against the West Indies by 34-runs.  Manoj Tiwary scored a 104 before he hand to retire hurt due to cramps.  Virat Kohli's 80, helped India to score a challenging 267-6 after electing to bat after winning the toss.

Indian players ensured that West Indies was all out for 233 in 44.1 overs.  Kieron Pollard's 119 gave some difficult moments to the Indians during the match.  From 110 balls Pollard scored 10 sixes and 4 fours.  His entertaining knocks were good enough to challenge the foundation work done by Tiwary and Kohli.

Tiwari scored 10 fours and a six during his century journey.

Virender Sehwag was rested following his world record score of 219 in the previous game.  India also rested off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and pace bowler Vinay Kumar, which resulted in bringing new faces like Tiwary, Rahane along with Pathan.

Due to lung illness all rounder Yuvraj Singh had ruled himself out at the beginning of the series.  Regular Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and star batsman Sachin Tendulkar were also rested during the entire series.

Whom we should fear?

In the earlier article we discussed about human body.   Human body is made out of dust and it will return to dust.  But we are afraid of hurting our body.  But, now let us see what Jesus talk about this human body.

Jesus said (Luke 12:4-5) "My friends, listen to me. Don't be afraid of those who kill the body but can't do any more than that.  I will show you whom you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the One who can kill the body and also has the power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, be afraid of him.

If you truly understand these words of Jesus, it will transform you to be a courageous, brave, daring, bold, heroic and  fearless human being.  Many of us are afraid of our life in this world.  That is why we have medical insurance, life insurance etc.  Fear of life prompt us to visit doctor for regular check up.  Fear prompt us to take extra care about our body.  Fear limit us doing extra work.  We experience fear in our every day life.  We fear about our business, fear about our carrier, fear about our relationship (how long it will last) Fear about our society.  we are fear of our colleagues or bosses. fear about our kids, fear of accidents in the road... the list is endless.  And the important thing is that fear limit us from doing what we should do.

If you understand and take the words of Jesus about your body, you will be the most courageous, brave, daring, bold, heroic and fearless person in this world.  Wouldn't it be awesome!  Great!  Jesus inviting you to be in that higher state of life.  Jesus don't want you to be a fearful person.  He don't want you to be a terrifying person. He don't want you to be a frightening, horrendous and  scary person.  He want you to be a fearless, courageous, brave, daring, bold and heroic person.  And he gave the secret.  The secret is that do not afraid of those who kill the body but cannot do anything more than that.

Again Jesus tells us one more thing.  To whom we should afraid of?  Be afraid of the one who can kill the body and also has power to throw you into hell. Only God has that power.  Jesus wanted us to know that we should fear only God.  No men, on this earth, has that power.  Man cannot do any harm to you. We must fear God and walk in His ways.  That is what we need to do in our earthly life.

We are formed out of dust, and we will return to dust.  But there is one more thing, our soul, lives in this body.  We should not lose our soul.  One day we have to stand in the presence of God.  Every human being needs to be there for the Judgment.

Dust

We all hate dust. Dust causes allergy to some people.  Dust storms are very dangerous which can cause death as the dust may fill our breathing organs.  Dust can cause adverse effect on human health.  We clean our home and electronics equipments and wanted it to be dust free.  Regular dusting is done at our home and other equipments to feel good.

Road dust, human dust, animal dust, domestic dust, atmospheric dust, construction site dust etc., are some forms of dust we face in our day to day life.

But we forget one thing that we, human beings, are formed out of dust which we hate.  Bible says: "Then the Lord God formed a man. He made him out of the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into him. And the man became a living person."  We are formed out of dust.  Bible again says that: You were made out of the ground.  And you will return to it. You are dust. So you will return to it."  If you study about human body, scientifically we can prove that it is formed out of dust.

If we examine the status of our body after death, we know it will return to dust.  Our body decay and return to dust or ground.

Another interesting thing bible says that "All the days of your life you will have to work hard to get food from the ground.  You will eat the plants of the field, even though the ground produces thorns and thistles.  You will have to work hard and sweat a lot to produce the food you eat.

The food for the man who has formed out of ground is the plants growing in the ground.  Plants are also growing in the ground. That means plants are a different form of dust.  We eat dust in the form of plants, seeds or fruits to live.  Yes dust of the ground need dust to live.  Very interesting!!

But it is very difficult for us to admit the fact that we are dust.  We want our body clean and beautiful.  We do many thing to improve the appearance of our body.  We ware fine ornaments.  We ware beautiful cloths to improve the appearance of our body.  Some people refuse to ware cloths as they are confident about the beauty of their body parts.

We take care of our body very carefully.  We put oil and creams to shine our skin which is made out of dust.  We try to eat best food to keep us healthy and in good shape.   Excessively feeding sugar or salt or other dust particles (chemicals) may case the sickness in our body.  Equilibrium of dust particles are to be maintained for a healthy life.  The shape of our body depends on the excess of dust or lack of it.  Some of us appear thin at the same others appear fat.  Excess of dust and lack of dust, both are dangerous.

We do exercises to reduce the dust particles in our body.  We invented many equipments for that purpose.  Still many of us failed to keep ourselves in shape.

We consult doctors for replacing this dust.  Doctors give a some specific dust(medicine) to cure the deceases.   Doctors operate this dust and remove infested dusts from the body.

We take medical insurance and life insurance against this dust.  Isn't it strange!  (Life insurance is good for the relatives/survivors)

We put on gold, silver and  pearl ornaments on this dust to look good. We use perfume to smell good.  We use costly and fragrant soaps to wash this dust.   We use soft cloths and cushions to feel good. Whatever we use, we use it on this dust only for its comfort.

For the comfort of this dust(our body), we invented many things.   We invented air conditioners, we invented vehicles to move around.  For the safety and comfort of these dust, rich people use Rolls Royce, Mercedes-Benz etc.  We look for all the comfort and security for these dust.

But the dust cannot be alive without the spirit.  Bible Says "and the dust returns to the ground it came from,  and the spirit returns to God who gave it."  That means there is a spirit that lives withing this dust that make the body alive.  Otherwise we call it dead body.  Dead body needs refrigeration to keep it in shape.  If there is no refrigeration, it will decay within days.

So the spirit that lives within the body that makes it alive.  When the spirit leaves this body it stops breathing. Death can be defined as the departure of spirit from the body.  It stops its function(breathing, blood circulation, digestion etc.).  It starts to decay.

So, next time when you ask someone "Do you know, who am I?"  Remember that you are dust.  Dust from the ground.  Nothing more than that.

What makes us active and alive.  Our spirit.  Where is it come from?  It is from God.  And It returns to God.  In a moments time it can depart from this body.  Then whatever you created, amassed or accumulated (material things) will be of no use.

Bible says that "Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—  the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—  so that they should live on forever and not see decay.  For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others.  Their tombs will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations, though they had named lands after themselves.

That is why Solomon says "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,  “I find no pleasure in them”

There is no value for this dust.  Jesus said:  "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?  Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

So the value of a man is in the soul.  How can we take care of our soul.  That is the biggest question we need to discuss in detail. Continue...

Obedience

We all know obedience is the most importance character we need to have in order to lead a spiritual life.

Human race separated from God because of their disobedience. Adam and Eve disobeyed God. God created man and woman in his likeness and image. One of the character of God is free will. Man also was given that character. The free will to obey God or choose to do good or bad. We know, man chose the wrong choice. To brake the commandment of God.

Satan helped him to disobey. We all know who Satan is. He too was the creation of God. But he tried to place his seat above the seat of God. And God removed him from his position and he is now working in this world to deceive the human race. He used to guide people to do wrong and find pleasure in doing wrong. Wherever we look we could see him at work. He wants to destroy us. He wants to destroy our family life. He wants to destroy our career. He wants to destroy our children. He wants to destroy our youngsters. He wants to destroy our society. He wants to destroy our country. He would be happy if we take our life by ourselves. For that he is doing whatever he can. He is at work always. But the good news is that one day God will punish him and destroy him.

Satan cannot directly attack God. So he attack his children. In that way he is trying to defeat God. We know if someone want to attack us, he wont be able to do so. Because we are stronger than him. Then he look for an easy pray to take the revenge. He could attack our children who is less stronger than him. Who cannot resist him. Satan also doing the same thing. He is looking for an easy pray to take revenge. He attacks human being.

How we can escape from his attack and lead a happy, peaceful and prosperous life?

The only way to escape from his attack is to take him with us who is stronger than he. He (God) who is within us is mightier than him(Satan). One of the character we need to have in order to have a good relation with God is obedience. Bible says (Rom 5:19) "For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous." Yes, Christ Jesus obeyed God and open a way to have fellowship with God which was broken in the Edan Garden.

Obedience is the origin of promises because it pleases God.

Let us look at another man who obeyed God.  What are the result of his obedience?  Bible says (Genesis 22: 15-19)  The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time  and said, “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,  I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,  and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

Because of Abraham's obedience, human race got a promise.  Look at the sentence  "Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." What a great promise!  It's the result of obedience.   That promise was fulfilled on the cross at Calvary.  Through Jesus we can renew our relationship with God.  Broken fellowship was reinstated through Jesus.

Obedience make us righteous.

As per Rom 5:19 by the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners and through the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.  Obedience by Jesus make us righteous.  What we need to do in order to obtain that righteousness? Believe in Jesus.  Obey the word of God. That is it.

In short obedience of Jesus made us righteous.

To obey is better than sacrifice

Prophet Samuel says to King Saul that :   “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD?  To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.

Disobedience is a sin equals to rebellion and arrogance

We know that idolatry or idol worship is the greatest sin in sight of God.  That is why God said it in the first commandment that you should not worship any other God except me.  Here it says disobedience is equal to rebellion or arrogance.
Disobedience = rebellion = arrogance.  So, in the sight of God disobedience is equal to the sin of arrogance and rebellion.

By disobeying, King Saul lost his kingship.  Adam lost paradise.  We all lose many things in our every day life.  We lost peace of mind.  We lost love.  We lost prosperity.  We lost eternal life.  We lost family life.  We lost wealth.  We lost health. We lost our royal priesthood.  We lost the position as a "Child of God", co-heir-ship  with Christ,   We lost everything, just because of our disobedience.  There is blessings in obedience.  At the same time there is loss in disobedience.

Water into wine John 2:1-12

One of the miracles Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee was water turned into wine. I often think about this incident mentioned in the Bible.(John 2:1 -12) One thing I noticed in that passage was Jesus and his disciples has also been invited for the wedding. I think that was the wisest thing the bridegroom ever done in his life.

Listen, when the wine was gone, there was Jesus to help him. Jesus saved him from a humiliating situation. If Jesus had not been invited for the wedding, He would have been preaching somewhere else, may be in Jerusalem or Samaria or some other place in Palestine. In such case, it would have been very difficult for the bridegroom to find Jesus in his hour of need. Situation could have been turned into an ugly incident.

I am so glad that the bridegroom had invited Jesus well in advance. There was presence of Jesus in the wedding. That is what we lack in our life. We often forget to invite Jesus in our functions. We forget to invite Jesus into our life. When we run out of wine, we started to look for Jesus. But it would be too late to find Jesus. Jesus would be busy in somewhere else.

Before you start your business, invite Jesus into your business, then Jesus would be there in your hour of need. Jesus would be present in you business. He will take care of every need of your business. Invite Jesus before you start your functions. That is the best way to make sure that everything goes well with you till the end.

We start without Jesus and when the need comes, we started to pry. Jesus come and help me! Jesus Come and help me! But You won't find him at the hour of your need.

That is why we need to start everything with Jesus. Start your day with Jesus. First you invite Jesus in to your business. Invite Jesus into your day. As the day progress, you will need Him to save you from embarrassing situations. In the time of trouble, He will be there to save you. Then your journey would be pleasant and happy. So invite Jesus in your studies. Invite Jesus in your family life. Invite Jesus into your social and personal life. Invite Jesus wherever you go.

But you need to keep in your mind one thing. Jesus is a holy and just God. He cannot accompany you when you go to unwanted, ugly places. He cannot tolerate your evil deeds. He is a just and Holy God. Holy spirit will guide you as long as you lead a holy life. The moment you turn from the path, He will leave you. Holy God needs a holy man to live with. 1 Peter 1:14-16 says "As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” God is looking for that holiness in you. When you turn to filthy things, when you entertain evil thoughts and evil deeds, he cannot tolerate with you. To lead a better life with God, you need to mend your ways.

Often we think we can go on with our business without God. You may be boasting about the money you have. You may be trusting in your health or wealth for continuing your business. Your money will not be useful when you run out of wine. You have money, but the need of the hour is wine. Your money will not turned into wine instantly.

When you run out of wine, you have to stop serving wine and go out to buy wine. You may or may not get wine with your money. The wine shop many not be open when you need wine. Then what will you do with your money? Money or health or wealth in which you trust will not save you in the hour of your need.

As a human being we may fell ill at any moment. In such moments, our money cannot save us. Only God can make a turnaround in such situations. Our dear and near ones will not be able to help us in the deepest darkness of our life. Only Jesus can help you and turn the situation to your favor.

You may have medical insurance. You may have good vehicles. You may have good contacts with able doctors. But all these things would not work well in the hour of your need if Jesus is not near you.

That is where the importance of inviting Jesus into your life well in advance. If Jesus is with you, you don't have to worry about anything. He is there to take care of everything. He will do the needful to rescue you. He will save you from embarrassing moments.

The second thing I noticed in that parable is that, Jesus performed a miracle when it was needed the most. It was not like that Jesus came to the wedding and there was no need of anything. Still he performed a miracle!. No, It is not like that. When there was a need comes up, Jesus come into action. Performed the miracle. Inviting Jesus does not mean that He will perform miracles instantly on his arrival. You may be inviting Jesus into your life but not seeing any miracles instantly. When the time comes, Jesus will perform miracles. He is waiting for an opportunity to perform miracles in your life.

When things go out of control, he will perform. When your might or strength goes out, he will perform. When your money or position in which you trust will not be in a position to help you, when you are helpless and badly in need of His help, turn to Him. He will not turn his face against you. He will be there to help you.

What is idolatry?

An Idol could be a physical one as well as a mental one.  Mentally we create images or things which we love more than our God.  Catholic as well as some protestant Churches use images of saints and angels as well as Apostles in their church and many tempt to pray to such images.  As per the ten commandment give to Moses: The first command (some view it as the second command) it says " I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.  You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

Again it says: "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments."

For Church, the urgent need of the hour is to remove all the Idol's from its buildings and clean them from all Idol's, just like Jesus did at His time on earth.

I don't know how the pop and other priests in the catholic churches preach the Ten commandments and at the same time keep many idols in their churches.

Either they should remove all the idols from the church or preach the first and second commandments are wrong.  By their actions they are silently preaching that the commandments God given to Moses are wrong by making and keeping idols in the church.  They proclaim that they are the representatives of God yet they deny the commandments of God.  Very strange???

Either they are least concerned about the commandments of God or they are ignorant of the truth.  This is the time to know the truth, so that the truth will set you free.

Bible clearly tell us what is an idol all about.  In Psalms 115: 4-8 "But their idols are silver and gold,  made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats. Those who make them will be like them."

It is true with Christianity an with all other religions.  We are trying to make God!!!  We are trying to create the creator!  What a strange thing to do!!!  No one has ever seen God.  Then how can a man make God.  Worshiping men in the place of God is also wrong.  Good peoples and saints lead a good life.  They are an example for us to follow.  But not to be worshiped as God.

People worship sun, moon and stars.  That too are done out of ignorant.  Because it was said that "You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

Again Bible says that Isiah 40:18-23  With whom, then, will you compare God?   To what image will you liken him?  As for an idol, a metalworker casts it,   and a goldsmith overlays it with gold  and fashions silver chains for it.  A person too poor to present such an offering   selects wood that will not rot; they look for a skilled worker to set up an idol that will not topple.  Do you not know?  Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning?  Have you not understood since the earth was founded?  He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught  and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing."

Again Bible condemn the logic and foolishness of making an idol.  Isiah 44: 8-23 says "Is there any God besides me?  No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind;  they are ignorant, to their own shame.  Who shapes a god and casts an idol,  which can profit nothing?  People who do that will be put to shame; such craftsmen are only human beings. Let them all come together and take their stand; they will be brought down to terror and shame.

The blacksmith takes a tool  and works with it in the coals; he shapes an idol with hammers, he forges it with the might of his arm. He gets hungry and loses his strength;  he drinks no water and grows faint.  The carpenter measures with a line and makes an outline with a marker; he roughs it out with chisels and marks it with compasses. He shapes it in human form,   human form in all its glory,  that it may dwell in a shrine. He cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak. He let it grow among the trees of the forest, or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow.

It is used as fuel for burning; some of it he takes and warms himself,  he kindles a fire and bakes bread. But he also fashions a god and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it.  Half of the wood he burns in the fire; over it he prepares his meal, he roasts his meat and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says,   “Ah! I am warm; I see the fire.”  From the rest he makes a god, his idol;  he bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says,   “Save me! You are my god!”

They know nothing, they understand nothing;  their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see,  and their minds closed so they cannot understand.  No one stops to think,  no one has the knowledge or understanding to say, “Half of it I used for fuel; I even baked bread over its coals,   I roasted meat and I ate.  Shall I make a detestable thing from what is left?  Shall I bow down to a block of wood?”  Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him;  he cannot save himself, or say,  “Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?”

“Remember these things, Jacob,   for you, Israel, are my servant. I have made you, you are my servant;    Israel, I will not forget you.  I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,   your sins like the morning mist. Return to me,  for I have redeemed you.”   Sing for joy, you heavens, for the LORD has done this;   shout aloud, you earth beneath. Burst into song, you  mountains,  you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob,   he displays his glory in Israel.

Again Prophet Isaiah says: "All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced; they will go off into disgrace together." “Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save."  "their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary."

The act of church is written in the bible:  "Has a nation ever changed its gods? (Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols."

There is warning against those who worship idols and they will be punished by God.  "I will repay them double for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land with the lifeless forms of their vile images and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols.”

Idolatry or Idol worship

Idolatry or idol worship is still prevalent even in this modern age.  Idolatry means people worshiping images created by men in the form of man or birds or animals.  Some worship the tools they work with.  Every day in the morning people silently pray to the tools they use in their work.  I often found people worship the machines they operate.  They do it for a good day of work without much interruption.    Have you ever thought of the foolishness in such worship.

Machines or tools or images created in the form of man or women or animals will not save us.  They are material things which does not have ear or eyes to listen.  They do not have power to grand our wishes.  Then why people worship such images.

There is a deep routed belief in the worship of image in the mind of human beings.  Even though they do not have any power to perform any miracles, people offer fruits, milk, honey, flowers and worship such images.  They cannot eat.  They cannot smell the fragrance of the flowers.  They are metal or wood which does not has mouth to eat or nose to smell just like me and you have.  Then what is the point in offering such things to idols

In the bible where God given Ten commandments to Moses God specially instructed that they should not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.  Then God Continued saying "You shall not bow down to them or worship them."

It's a clear and specific instruction to the children of God.  No images means no images.  Whether it is animal or saints or mighty men of God, you should not make an image of it and worship it.

The foolishness of idol worship is clearly mentioned in the bible.  If you read the book of Isiah Chapter 44 you'll understand what is a idol all about.
