True value of money

True value of money

JUST DO IT!

Ever heard someone say: "Just Do It"?

It sounds like a great idea.

Hard to argue with - seems positive, empowering - yeah!

JUST DO IT!

But - has "Just Do it" worked for you?

Well?

Have you ever tried to:

Just... stop procrastinating

Just... be confident

Just... quit your job and follow your bliss

Just... attract a passionate romance

Just... make more money

Just... quit smoking

Just... eat healthier

Just... exercise more

Just... stop worrying...be happy...let go of the
past...stop being depressed...

Think for a moment - what would make YOU happier,
richer, healthier?

Are you doing it?

If not - why not?

How come when we try to "just do it" it in some
areas of our life - it seems so stinking hard?

How many New Years resolutions have to suffer a
quick, anonymous death...

How many diets need to fail... How many goals have
to be set and not come true...

How many dreams have to DIE unrealized...

Until the struggle ENDS and the joy and abundance
and passion for life begins?

What does it TAKE for "Just do it" to become...

"I DID IT!"

About Melchizedek king of Salem

About Melchizedek king of Salem

1. Genesis 14:17-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).   Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High,  and he blessed Abram, saying,    “Blessed be Abram by God Most High,   Creator of heaven and earth.  And praise be to God Most High,  who delivered your enemies into your hand.”  Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

   2. Psalm 110:3-5  Your troops will be willing   on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor,    your young men will come to you    like dew from the morning’s womb.   The LORD has sworn    and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever,    in the order of Melchizedek.”   The Lord is at your right hand;    he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.   The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

   3. Hebrews 5:5-10 In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him,    “You are my Son;    today I have become your Father.”   And he says in another place,   “You are a priest forever,  in the order of Melchizedek.”   During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.  Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered  and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him  and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

   4. Hebrews 6:13 - 20   When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,  saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”  And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.   People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.  Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.  God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.  We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,  where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

   5. Hebrews 7:1-28  This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,  and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”  Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!  Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, from their fellow Israelites—even though they also are descended from Abraham.  This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.  And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater.  In the one case, the tenth is collected by people who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.  One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham,  because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor.

Jesus Like Melchizedek
If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?  For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.  He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.  For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.  And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,  one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.  For it is declared:

   “You are a priest forever,
   in the order of Melchizedek.”

The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless  (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.   And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath,  but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:

   “The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
   ‘You are a priest forever.’”

Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.

Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;  but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.  Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.  Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.  For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

Words of wisdom

What a person desires is unfailing love;
better to be poor than a liar.

The poor are shunned by all their relatives—
how much more do their friends avoid them!

Though the poor pursue them with pleading,
they are nowhere to be found.

Better the poor whose walk is blameless
than a fool whose lips are perverse.

Wealth attracts many friends,
but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.

Desire without knowledge is not good—
how much more will hasty feet miss the way!

A person’s own folly leads to their ruin,
yet their heart rages against the LORD.

A false witness will not go unpunished,
and whoever pours out lies will not go free.

Many curry favor with a ruler,
and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts.

The one who gets wisdom loves life;
the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

A false witness will not go unpunished,
and whoever pours out lies will perish.

It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury—
how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!

A person’s wisdom yields patience;
it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion,
but his favor is like dew on the grass.

A foolish child is a father’s ruin,
and a quarrelsome wife is like
the constant dripping of a leaky roof.

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Laziness brings on deep sleep,
and the shiftless go hungry.

Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward them for what they have done.

Discipline your children, for in that there is hope;
do not be a willing party to their death.

A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty;
rescue them, and you will have to do it again.

Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

The fear of the LORD leads to life;
then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

A sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
he will not even bring it back to his mouth!

Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence;
rebuke the discerning, and they will gain knowledge.

Whoever robs their father and drives out their mother
is a child who brings shame and disgrace.

Stop listening to instruction, my son,
and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

A corrupt witness mocks at justice,
and the mouth of the wicked gulps down evil.

Penalties are prepared for mockers,
and beatings for the backs of fools.

Public Transport at Delhi

Due to problems with my bike, I was using public transport for the last two days.  Using public transport at Delhi is getting better now a days.  If you are traveling where metro train available, it is well and good. If you happened to use Bus services, it is easy and economic.  But I found it time consuming.

If it is raining, there would be traffic jam in most of the roads at Delhi.   Even if you use a private means of transport, in rainy days, there are possibility of getting stuck at the road.  So it is advised to get out of your den as early as possible.  Otherwise you will be missing your appointments.

If you use public transport, you will see different types of people.  People who stand in the Queue  and people who brake the queue.  You can also see people stand in queue fight with the people who take out of turn.   It happens mostly in the railway reservation counter where people are so hurry to reach their destination.

You can witness a first hand information about the cultural chance that happened in this city.  It was a good experience for me to see the changes.  In metro people are behaving very well.  There is a positive change happened in the culture.  You would see more educated and well behaved people in the metro train.

Metro stations has many counters.  But often I found one or two counters are working and the rest of the counters are closed.  And people stand in queue for getting their token.

I love traveling in metro as it is air conditioned.  Traveling on bus in summer is very difficult.  If you happened to travel in the peak hours, it would be a miserable experience.  Delhi is a good place.  Now many roads are widened and many flyovers are built along the roads for the smooth function of Common Wealth Games 2010.  It will start on 3rd October and end at 14th October 2010.

Under the Chairmanship of MP Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, the Organising Committee is making every efforts to make it a success.  During the games period, schools and colleges will not be working.  It'll reduce the traffic to some extent.

God is the God of Abraham

God is the God of Issac

God is the God of Jacob.  A true god.  Who lives even today.  Taking care of our every need.  I know God has a plan for everything.  To save his loved ones, he makes good plans for us.  Thanks Lord.  For your plans and ways.  You are awesome.  Wonderful.  Miracles are yours.  You do everything wonderfully.

Grass Growing in the field.  We don't know how it is.  Every day it is growing.  It is also the work of God.  Birds fly high.  It's also the work of a living God.  No one knows His ways.  His ways are great.

Look at the sky.  Clouds. White clouds in the blue sky is a fantastic view.  I like it.  It is also a creation of God Lord Almighty.

Thank God for this beautiful world you created. Thank God giving me a chance to live in this planet.  Yours ways are wondrous.

Your work are marvelous.  You do mighty thing.  Who am I and How can I understand your work.

My bike Bajaj XCD 125

I am sad today.  My bike is not starting.  Last week I got it serviced.  Day before yesterday while going back home, it was raining.  Heavy rain.  As there was no problem, I ride back to home while it was raining.  I enjoyed that ride.  But water went into it.  Yesterday when I left it in front of my office.  Sunlight was there.  Suddenly it's self start started to work. Bike was locked and the key was with me.  Our gate keeper saw the same and informed me.  When I reached the bike, its self start was working.

It was a surprise to me.  I put the key inside the key hole and tried to start.  Still it was working.  Then I open the side and removed the Fuse.  Then it got stopped.  Then I put back the fuse.  Tried to start again.  But it was not starting.

Then I left it there till 4pm in the evening.  Then I went back.  Tried to start.  But it was not starting.  My colleagues also tried to start the bike. But the efforts went on without producing any result.  I called a mechanic.  He tried his level best to start the bike.  He failed.  He advised to take it to his work shop.

It is in the work shop now.  It is 2 year old Bajaj XCD 125 self start bike.  I don't know what is the problem.

It was running smoothly till now.  I don't know what happened.  Do you know the reason.

Spiritual and real life

We had an uncle who was very bold and courageous enough to raise his voice even in the middle of the crowd. One day as our local church was celebrating its annual festival, and there comes a medicine seller who was thin and skinny. In the street corner he placed his box. Upon the box he displayed medicine bottles along with two pictures of a guy, before and after using the medicine

Thoughts that you will cherish to have

Thoughts that you will cherish to haveWhat are the memories you will cherish to have while lying on your death bed. Is it the days you put on high healed Shoes and wearing shining clothes or garments and walked through the streets of your neighborhood and people peeped out to look at you and admired you. Do you cherish on the thought of having that expensive fancy dress. Or will you cherish the thought of wearing that branded jeans and T-shirt and strolling around your neighborhood. Or will you cherish the thought of driving that SUV or Branded Luxury car. Will you cherish at the thought of living a luxury life. Will you cherish at the thought of things you possess, the thing you bought for yourself. Will you cherish at the bank balance you have at the time you are about to die. Think about it. No. No one will cherish at the thought of having many material things or bank balance you made for yourself.

You might cherish at the thought of the good deeds you done in your life. The time you spend with your dear ones. The helping hand you extended to your friends or relatives. You will cherish the thought of the time when you helped your friend when he was in dire need of financial and morel help and wiped out his tears at that critical moment. The day your friend thanked you with the tears of joy and gratitude for the help you extended to him. They are the thoughts that you will cherish to have at your death bed.
But the question is how we are spending our days now? Are we spending it the way we want? Would you be happy when you look at the path you traveled? Would you be satisfied at the end your life for the things you done? That are the questions we need to ask now. If you find the answers to these questions, I am sure there would be a shift in the way of your life. Hope you would not spend your energy, time and money to things which would not bring meaning and satisfaction. You will spend your time, money and energy for things which are more meaningful and satisfying.

Managerial Functions

Managerial Functions

Managerial Functions

The functions which describe managerial job, when put together, make up the management process. This process is analyzed into key functions of management viz., planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling. Planning, organizing and controlling which deal mostly with non-human aspects are known as mechanics of management, whereas staffing and direction which are primarily concerned with human aspects constitute dynamics of management. In the conceptual scheme, though the functions are listed out in a sequence, I practice they are interlocked as a system. As all functions are not equally important for all managers, time spent by them for each of these functions varies according to their levels in the organization. These functions has been discussed below:

  1. Planning: Planning refers to anticipate the opportunity, problems and conditions and choosing from among the alternative future courses of action. The planning process generally includes the following activities.

    1. Forecasting is looking ahead to anticipate the opportunity, problems and conditions in a future period of time.

    2. Establishing objectives means setting the end results to be accomplished by directing organizational efforts.

    3. Programming is establishing sequence and priority of actions to be followed in the attainment of the objectives.

    4. Scheduling is deciding on time sequence for program steps.

    5. Budgeting is allocation of resources to minimize costs.

    6. Establishing procedures means developing and applying standardized methods of performing a specific work.

    7. Developing policies involve establishment and interpretation of standing decisions that apply to repetitive questions and problems of significance to be organization as a whole.

  1. Organizing function: The organizing function of management is the process of defining and grouping of activities and creating authority relationship among them. It consists of

    1. Developing the organization structure which involves identification of task and grouping them into units or departments for performance.

    2. Delegating authority to the managers and making him responsible for group performance.

    3. Establishing relations creating conditions necessary for mutually fooperative efforts of people in the organization.

  2. Staffing: Planning the organization with suitable personnel constitutes the staffing function. It involves selection, training and development, compensation, and appraisal of subordinates by the manager. Manpower planning and manpower management looks after these activities and try to ensure suitable methods of remuneration and performance appraisal of the employees.

  3. Directing Function: involves managing people and the work through the means of motivation, proper leadership, effective communication and coordination. A manager must develop ability to command. He should issue orders and instructions without arousing any resentment among the subordinates. He must be able to secure willing obedience from his subordinates without destroying their initiative and creativity. Moreover, it requires a sound communication system to enable exchange of ideas and information for common understanding.

  4. Controlling Function: enables management to ensure that achievement is in accordance with the established plans it involves:

    1. Establishing performance standards for evaluating results.

    2. Performance on the basis of records and reports on the progress of work.

    3. Performance evaluation against the standards set.

    4. Corrective action to regulate operations, remove deficiencies and improve performance

Hope you would not spend your energy, time and money to things which would not bring meaning and satisfaction. You will spend your time, money and energy for things which are more meaningful and satisfying.

If you raise your head and look at people and their deeds, it seems that at the end of their life they will be satisfied and cherished at the bank balance and possessions they made for themselves. They don't have time for their family. They don't have time for their friends. They have time only to make money and protect their money and possession. Nothing else. How long we continue a meaningless life? For whom we are amassing wealth? You don't know your successor will be wise enough to protect your wealth properly.

It is the time to raise your head and look at your own work. Are you doing a worthy job or wasting your time and energy?

When you reach Heaven, God would not ask you about your bank balance or how much wealth you created for yourself. Do you think when you reach heaven God would ask: Sam, How much you earned?.

Sam: Oh my God you know how much I made. You know life was very tough their. As soon as I completed my studies, I started to work. I saved some money. But when I got married, I spend almost everything I earned in my bachelor life for the marriage. You know how difficult it is to maintain a wife. Then we saved some money to buy a home. Before we bought that dream home we had children too. Still we managed to buy that dream home with the help of bank loan. You know the expenses of the children at school. It was difficult to manage the children's studies and home mortgage and living expenses by myself. So I forced my wife to take up a job so that she can support the family. However we manged children's studies, home loan, car loan, vacation etc. After that we had a little time to earn something for our retirement and for ourselves. Still we manage to make some money and we were about to become millionaires. But you called us to heaven. If you granted few more years, we could have come here as millionaires. But you called us to here at the young age age of 85. We couldn't enjoy our hard earned money too.

God: Stupid Sam, what are you talking? Look at Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. They have made not one or two millions, but hundreds of millions of dollars. Look at Oprah Winfrey. She made millions in her young age from nothing. And you, after 75 years not able to make a single million? Nonsense. Go away from here.

No. God will not say so. Don't think in your wildest dreams that God would ask such a question or compare you with other millionaires. He would not look at your net worth and judge accordingly.

A possible chance of the seen which can happen to you at the heaven is mentioned below:

God: My dear Sam, I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. I never expect such act from you, My dear Sam... You see, how much I loved you and how much I blessed you.

Sam: What nonsense you are talking about my Lord? When you were hungry. If you told me, I could have arrange dinner for you in a five star hotel!. When you were thirsty. We had kept branded wine in our refrigerator throughout my life. If you just informed me, we could have a grand party at my residence along with my friends. When you were a stranger? We are happy to have you as our gust and make every arrangements for you. We are willing to build a guest house for you to stay as long as you want to stay with us. When you came to us, you never informed us. If you have told us, we could arrange insurance for you to take care of you at a good hospital when you were sick. We could have buy you branded suits or tailor made cloth for you. And obviously we never expect you at the prison. You know good people will not go to prison. You know how much we loved you and your blessings. Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

God: 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

Sam: That....... My dear God..... ..... but...... ..... I left my wealth with my son...... Hope he would spend some money out of it for the poor....

God: Foolish Sam, how can you expect your sons will spent some money on poor when you never showed kindness to poor in front of them. Then how do you you expect them to do that? You heard about helping the needy in the church many times that: Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

God continued: You heard many preachers preaching on the above matter but never heed. You slept over many messages when comes to giving. You were only interested in listening messages about blessings, material blessings and nothing else.

Sam: Oh.... My.... God.... that... but....

While living in this world make sure you would not reach such a position.

Have a great life.

How can you make more friends?

How can you make more friends?: "When I was around ten years old, my family friend given us a little white -haired pup. I saw him growing up in front of me. He was the one of the joy of my childhood. Every afternoon, he would sit in the front yard with his beautiful eyes staring steadfastly at the path. As soon as he see me coming from my school, he was off like a shot, racing breathlessly running through the way to greet me with leaps of joy and barks of sheer ecstasy. When I get within ten feet of him, he will begin to wag his tail."

Choose to win

Many peoples are around us who constantly complain about their inability. And very often we hear the statements like 'I do not have money', 'I did not had any opportunity like you had.' 'I do not have the time.' 'I do not have the support.' etc. etc.

Many of their statements are true. We all are born and brought up in different circumstance, with different parents, and are in different places. We studied in different schools which has different standards. Some of us had good parents, few are abandoned by their parents. Many of us are born physically strong, some were born weak physically. Some of us were born in poor family and did not have resources for three meals a day. Many were born in good or middle class family who managed to provide you three meals a day. Very few born and brought up in a rich family. They are wealthy, nourished, educated and had may resources for making money."

There are many thing which are beyond our control. Become a son/daughter of of Bill Gates (I mean born in a rich family) or born with the beauty of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt (I mean born with a beautiful face and figure) are beyond our control or we cannot choose to be. We call it Outer World. We cannot choose our parents. (If it were so, there were many who throng around the house of Bill Gates and other rich people and poor people starve for a child.) We cannot choose our shape. (I am not forgetting that Now we can change our face and figure through plastic surgery. Many out there who changed their appearance.)"

Have you ever had a desire to see God?: "See God

Have you ever had a desire to see God? If your answer is yes, please continue reading. This hub is for you.

This hub I dedicate entirely to show you God. 'How can I see God?' You may ask. Many are asking the same question. When I was very young, I thought seeing God is watching the Photo/picture of Jesus. In the market you'll get photos and pictures of Jesus. Different types of photos/pictures like: Jesus Hanged on the Cross, Jesus with his parents, Baby Jesus in the Hands of Mary, Jesus carrying the cross to Golgotha, Jesus with sheep, Jesus on the sea shore, Jesus with his disciples, Jesus with the blind, Jesus rebuking wind and waves etc. etc. We had few framed photo's of Jesus at our home. One was a big portrait of Jesus, looking at heaven and praying. It was hanged on the walls of our drawing Room. A magnificent picture I still remember. As a small boy, I thought that picture of Jesus was God and I had to utter my prayers and wishes to it. But now I am not talking about to watching a picture of Jesus which is available in the market."

The other day I was traveling in a bus. The bus was over crowded and there was no space to sit or even to stand. I manged to hold the Iron road fixed on the roof. As the bus moved I overheard the conversation of two college students who were standing beside me.

First one asked his friend. 'Have you seen that?'

His friend replied: 'No, I didn't get a chance'

Then the first one told his friend that: 'It'd be a biggest loss in your life.'

Then I decided to give more attention to their conversation to find out what is that biggest loss!. I carefully listened their conversation. They were talking about the film show running in the theater in the nearby city. The first one managed to see that film but the second one could not see that film. Not seeing that particular film is the greatest loss in life for that friend."

Raghavan was returning from his work on his bicycle as usual. He was planning in his mind what to do in the coming week end, He wanted to take his daughter and wife to the city to show them the new film running in the movie theater. He was riding his bicycle in a pleasant mood. He was just started to go ahead to a bus which was stopped at the bus stop for getting passengers. Suddenly he heard the sound of a speeding bus coming from behind. It was about to overtake the stopped bus. Before he could realize what was happening, the driver of the bus which was stopped saw the other bus started his bus also to prevent the other bus from overtaking him as he will lose passengers in the next stop. It took a right move and the other bus which was coming from behind was also in a great speed. Before realizing what is happening, both the buses crushed Raghavan."

Making money is the most important part of becoming a millionaire, but another most important thing is keeping that money with you. It will generate more money. We all wanted to be successful. We do many things to get the result. We are overwhelmed by the works. Still, many times we fail to attain the desired result in the way we wanted. Why it is so? We wonder many times. We did a lot of work. Still there is no result.

It is the human tendency to do the work which is easy and fast. At the same time we put off the work which is difficult or need much time for tomorrow. And that tomorrow will never come. At the end of the day, the net result is zero. That is where we need to prioritize our work.

What is the most important priority in your life? Money, Fame, Family, Relation, Carrier, Business."

An old man was walking along the road. While walking he found in the road side few people are working. The workers were trying to make a building. Out of curiosity the Old man asked the first worker to whom he met. 'What are you doing?' He replied with a tired face, 'What to say, I am making a living'. While inspecting their work, the old man came beside another worker. He again put forth the same question to him also 'What are you doing?' The worker got little bit irritated and said. 'Can't you see what I am doing. I am working with the stones' the Old man went around the upcoming building and met another worker."

Daisy aunty got married to the son of a wealthy farmer in Wayanad when I was a child. As the custom, when I got married, we visited them. It is 8 hours drive from our village. When we reached there, they were living in a small house which they recently purchased and it is just opposite uncle's ancestral home. Aunty informed us that after the death of her father-in-law uncle and his brother divided the property of their father. Uncle's younger brother got the ancestral home as the custom prevailed in that time. To compensate, he gave half of the value of the house to uncle. Adding some money to that, Aunty wanted to build a brand new big house."
