The cost of such immersion rod may little bit costly but rest assured it will work at least 2 years without any problem. Chinese made cheap Immersion rods will not last too long.
Normally copper tubes with steel platings are used to make immersion rod which will last long.
While using Immersion rod make sure that the electric connector part (which is inside the handle or plastic part) do not dip in the water. Which may cause electrocution. Some Immersion rods come with a clip to hold the immersion rod on the side of the bucket. This keeps the immersion rod electric parts above the water level. It is also dangerous to keep the water level too low as the rod get hot, there are chances of the plastic part get damaged. Hence you need to be very careful about the water level while using the immersion rod.
Keep a regular watch over the immersion rod while using as there is no thermostat in this type of water heater. Hence overheating will damage the device. It is advised to notify the time required for heating water in the first time.
