Secrets of the Kingdom Part 25 Forty days of opposition We have seen how that the Nation of Israel has completed a 40 year cycle from the six day war to June 6th 2007. This cycle is of real prophetic significance to the church. Israel of old spent 40 years wandering the wilderness before crossing over to their New Day. In a recent encounter with the Lord I was told that there would be 40 days of real opposition and that the spirit of Goliath would roar for 40 days. The book of Daniel chapter 10 makes it clear that fallen angels can and do rule of many Nations. Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel had realized that change was eminent for the Nation of Israel Daniel 9:2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. 3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: Daniel had read the prophesies that Jeremiah had spoken 70 years previously and he realized that the time for these prophesies to be full filed had come. Jeremiah 29:10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. The time has come for great change and release in Israel, Daniel had become aware of this and he set his face to seek the Lord. What Daniel did not full realize was that this change would be fiercely resisted by Satan Daniel had been praying for 3 weeks unaware of the great battle his prayers had caused in the heavenly realm.  Michael the Arch Angel had to come and fight with the spirit over the region that Daniel was in giving the Angel Gabriel some breathing space which allowed him to slip thought to Daniel and speak to him. The battles that play out in the realm of the spirit often are triggered by our prayers. However we have a responsibility to Prevail in Prayer. If Daniel had given up praying on the 15 day the battle would have been lost and Gabriel would not have been able to get through to him. Note the words:  Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. It never ceases to amaze me how that our words constantly trigger movement in the spirit realm. Demonic strongmen are assigned against ministries, Intercessors, and people who are active in the kingdom of God and our words either empower them or hinder them. Major change in the Kingdom of God triggers fierce resistance and just because we understand that something to be of God does not mean that there will be no resistance, usually just the opposite is true. Zechariah 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. David and Goliath We again see that during this period great change was eminent in the Nation, a whole era was coming to and end and a new chapter was about to begin in Israel. However along with this came great opposition. 1 Samual 17:3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israelstood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. 4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 1 Samual 17:16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days. This man Goliath was of a race of Giants in the earth and represents high level spiritual opposition. We need to see this in relation to the changes that are about to occur in the church. The Lord clearly spoke to me in a recent encounter with Him saying that we will have opposition for 40 days. We have entered the end of and era and stand poised on the threshold ready to enter the Promised Land, however we have to fight for it. The number 40 in scripture Forty is a number in scripture that is associated with a period of probation. Moses 40 years in Egypt:  Act 7:23 Moses 40 years in the back side of the desert: Act 7:30 Moses 40 days in the mount: Exodus 24:18 The pies spent 40 days spying out the land. Numbers 13:25-26 Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness Jesus was seen for 40 days after His resurrection. Acts 1:1-3 40 is a multiple of 5 x 8   the number 5 speaks of grace and the number 8 speaks of new beginnings. The church is coming out of a major period of probation and by grace we will enter into the fullness of this new era in God. The Nation of Israel today has just completed a 40 year period of probation dating from the six day war to June 6th 2007 the church also spiritually has completed this period of probation. Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 13a And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; Jesus said as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be just prior to the return of Jesus God said the end of all flesh is come, and then for 40 days and forty nights it rained and brought that era to an end. The giant in the day of King David roared for 40 days The ministry of Jesus started after 40 days in the wilderness Israel were in the wilderness for 40 years before the entered the Promised Land Opposition often is a clear indication of eminent change James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We need to hold steady over these 40 days resisting the enemy and in faith declaring a new day is dawning, a day of great blessing a day of harvest and day of miracles, a day of provision.
