The Election Aftermath

The Election Aftermath

I have just returned from conducting meetings in the USA, It was a difficult time spiritually to say the least. A great battle raged between righteousness and unrighteousness as the destiny of this great Nation for the next four years hung in the balance. Much prayer was offered by many people for righteousness to prevail and for God to give them a Godly leader.  The question has been asked a thousand times since the election, what went wrong? Where did all of our prayers go? Did God not hear us?The Question is often asked; is God in control of everything?

As we view the events of the last few years we see so much carnage, hunger and atrocities perpetrated around the world as well as natural disasters such as earthquakes, and tsunamis, along with thousands of children dying of starvation, many are beginning to wonder who is in control of this planet. And why does God not intervene, where is God when all of this is happening? And why did God not answer our prayer for a righteous leader to be elected?

1st we need to establish that God is in control
A major theme in the scriptures is Gods throne: The throne implies power, authority, control; this theme keeps emerging throughout the Word of God

Psalms 103:19the lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.  This clearly stated that God rules over everything, Generations come and go but Gods throne remains.
Ecclesiastes 1:4One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

There is only one thing in this world that is constant, that remain stable unmoved, unfazed, over what is happening here on this planet, that of GOD and HIS Throne.  Gods plans and purposes cannot be defeated

Psalms 89:34My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. God said I am the Lord I change not.
Lamentations 5:19Thou, o lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

God remains stable and true and cannot be moved because of what men may do. Some time ago I was looking a huge tree in the Nation of New Zealand, the tree was just a few years old when Jesus walked the earth, I thought this tree has seen so much change, many generations that have come and gone, it has seen wars, famine, flood. But that tree still stands unmoved just quietly surveying the scene Like God, who sits on His throne, He remains true, steadfast, unmoved, His purposes & plans are not changed or shaken.

In times of crisis and change God would have us remember that He is on his throne. The prophet Isaiah lived in a time of great uncertainty, a world in which vast changes for evil were being played out, as he cried out to God, God showed him His throne.

Isaiah 6:1in the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

This stabilizing reality steadied the prophet with the realization the God was still on His throne.  The Apostle John at the end of His life lived in an incredibly unstable world, his world was changing, hundreds of martyrs were dying and a cruel ungodly Roman power seemingly controlled his world. It was then that God showed him His throne.

Revelation 4:2and immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

The throne of God is the only stable thing in this universe; it represents Gods rule and reign, and His absolute control of all things. God’s affairs are administered from his throne by an innumerable company of angels.

1 kings 22:19and he said, hear thou therefore the word of the lord: I saw the lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. Heavenly hosts..(Angels)
Revelation 5:11and I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

We may well ask; if God is ruling from His throne, why do these bad things happen?
This question has been asked by Theologians, Sages and men in general throughout the ages. There are no simple answers to this question; however there are guiding principles that are laid out in God’s Word that give some insight into this profound question.

God gave all men free will
God gave mankind free will at the same time warning him not to violate certain laws and principles, many of which are contained in the Ten Commandments. God was saying do this and you will get hurt. Much like a mother who tells her child not to touch the fire or it will hurt real bad, however often the child will do just that, touch the fire and get burnt. The consequences of sin are very bad, and are the result of disobedience to laws that keep us safe and happy.

Sins of the leaders
Some Leaders of countries have brought their people to poverty and starvation by violating the basic laws of God; greed, and lust for power, along with a lack of compassion and mercy have brought whole nations into poverty, violence and some of the worst atrocities the world has seen, the wages of sin is death. However God said if you obey my laws your days will be as days of heaven upon earth. Deut 11:16-21

Jesus said this to His followers (The Church)
Matthew 5:13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Jesus here placed the responsibility for what happens on this earth squarely upon the shoulders of His followers. This is born out in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, there was not enough salt to save these twin cities, and as a testimony to this, lots wife was turned into a pillar of salt as a testimony forever to the responsibility of Gods children in  this earth.

God will give us after our own hearts
Psalms 106:14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

In the USA   The people have just elected a man who believes in Abortion, the murder of children, this man along with other ungodly policies that he embraces was elected into office by the Christians. If all the Christians had voted against this man there would have been massive landslide in the other direction.  The facts are that there are over 120 Million professing Christians in the USA. If these Christians hade voted for righteousness things would have been different. To me it seems unthinkable that a Christian would vote for a man who endorses the murder of children along with other policies that God considers an abomination. This election was a test for the church a sifting of right from wrong a test of motives and intent of the heart.

There will be consequences
There is a scriptural principle that clearly shows that what we condone we come under the power of...
Romans 6:16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Your vote is a condoning of the policy the person you voted for, this has personal consequences.  Your vote can give the demonic powers of darkness permission to operate. What you condone you release in the spirit realm forces for either righteousness or evil. When a President condones murder or Homosexuality he or she bring the whole nation under the spirits that rule in those areas, Spirits of homicide and homosexuality are given free rein in the Nation. This is also true right down though the chain of authority, from Senators and educators, right on down to the heads of our homes, husband and wives. What you condone will bring your family under the power of. This is a most frightening scenario and we will be held responsible. Pastors who influenced their churches to vote for unrighteousness will face judgment, how naive can Christians be? The issue in this election was not black or white, Democrats or Republicans it was a matter of righteousness, it really time for the church to Grow Up.

The country will suffer Judgments of God because murder is a horrendous crime along with immorality, which brings untold Sorrow and judgment upon any Nation that Sanctions it, especially the murder of children.
Psalms 107:17Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. And how foolish can one be who votes for unrighteousness.

The wheat and the Tares
Matthew 13:29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

This principle applies in many areas of life; this is a time of great shakings and great siftings and God will use this time to sort out the true the wheat from the tares in the church.

1 Peter 4:17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Yes the time has really come; the next four years in many ways will be hard for the USA

The church will have to face the consequences for what they sanctioned in their vote; however those who have honored Gods word taking a stand for life and righteousness will find themselves empowered for service like never before. This uncompromising group will begin to be mantled with great authority and power. Great releases of finance will come their way. In the midst of great darkness will be those who will arise and begin to reap the harvest. As the darkness deepens in the USA the light will become greater upon the true Christians, great outpouring of the Holy Spirit will come, and revivals will break out in numerous places as God begins to make a difference between the true church and the lukewarm church. This sifting will eventually bring about one true church of power and glory. It may take 4 years for the lukewarm church to come to their senses and if  it repents God will join them to the true church and the greatest move of the spirit will begin to emerge like a giant wave that will sweep over the world in great glory and power.

Matthew 13:38The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

What has just happened in the USA is a carbon copy of what is happening in many western nations, we are beholding the goodness and the severity of the Lord and Isaiah 60, is being outplayed even now

Isaiah 60:1Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
5Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Blessings
