Going to the next level part 3 In Pursuit of God

Going to the next level part 3
In Pursuit of God
Deueronomy 29:29The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
There have always been some in every generation that found greater access into the realities of God’s Kingdom and brought greater understanding and insight of God’s purposes and ways to their generation.
Why is it that some like Enoch had a walk with God that was way ahead of most in the history of Christianity? What was it about Moses that qualified Him to know God’s manifest presence and to talk with God face to face? How come Enoch went for a walk with God and never came back? What was it about Job that allowed him to walk and consult with God as a friend?
The common denominator
Were these men specially chosen by God to have this walk with Him, or did they in some way qualify for this kind of relationship?
There have always been authentic Christian Mystics who tapped into the spiritual realm of Gods Kingdom, these men and women often were branded as heretics or deluded, however many of these men and women left us a spiritual heritage that has been squandered by most in the church today. People like Madam Guyon, Francois Fenelon, Michael Molinos, Bother Lawrence, and many others who forged a pathway like Enoch into the mysteries of the Kingdom. Most of these Godly mystics lived in a time much different to ours, a time where the pace of life was much slower and mostly less complicated, herein lies the dilemma.
Our modern high tech age has brought many great advances in the world of science and technology, but with it has come a deadly demise, we have no time for God. Most Christians in the western world spend an average of eight hours a day watching TV. Most ministers spend less than half an hour per day in prayer.
Often pastors become so depleted spiritually with the demands of a CEO, enslaved on the administrative treadmills of religious programming and fundraising. The pace of life has become a major enemy of learning how to walk with God. Drastic measures are needed to break this destructive cycle.
I have read searched and studied extensively over the years in pursuit of an answer to the question can we all walk with God as these great men of old did. The resounding conclusive answer to this is YES. They all have one thing in common; they learned how to wait on God and how to recognize His voice.
With many, waiting on God seems a waste of time, there are other very important things we have to do. Many have started off in this direction but gave up after while because nothing really seemed to happen.
Waiting on God the lost art
Waiting on God means just that WAITING. God has so designed it that real change can only come in our lives by waiting IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
Psalms 37:9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Isaiah 8:17And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Isaiah 40:31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
2 Corinthians 3:18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
These scriptures show us that when we wait on the Lord, this exposure to His presence affects changes in us.
This is remarkable you don’t have to do anything but wait in His presence, we are so achievement orientated that just doing nothing to gain something is foreign to our normal mindset.  God said BE STILL AND KNOW Ps 46:10.
Learning to draw aside with God and wait in His presence is a key to knowing Him. The problem we have between us and God is one of incompatibility. We have many hurts, and distorted mindsets that make it impossible to see most things from Gods point of view. The hurts of life color and distort our view, and our insight into the true nature of things is blurred. Disappointments, failures, and resentments all add to the incompatibility between us and God. Sometimes we battle with these things without real victory, many times we are not even aware that these hindrances are there because they become a part of our life and accepted as who we are.
You cannot encounter the Lord and remain the same
Exposure to His presence brings change often without us knowing as many of the hurts, betrayals and pain which are part of this earthly life are melted away and healed by the presence of the Lord.  This process of renewal by exposure to the manifests presence of the Lord is a key to enabling us to draw nearer to the Lord.
Job new what it was to walk with God he said this:
Job 29:4As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
The word secret here is the Hebrew word  5475. cowd, sode; from H3245; and means a session, i.e.  (in close deliberation); by impl. intimacy, consultation, a secret:--assembly, counsel, inward, secret (counsel).
Job was saying I walked with God in secret sessions with Him I consulted Him and we talked things through.
God boasted in the relationship He had with Job which turned into another test for Job which he passed and moved higher in God.
King David said this:
Psalms 31:20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Psalms 91:1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
David new of a place unseen by man, a place where he was alone with God and when David came out of that secret place he was overshadowed or covered with the presence of God
Daniel Saw a time in the future when life would be so much busier than his day, a time when the pace of life would be so hectic it warranted a mention in God’s word, and in that time God would release greater revelation to His people. THAT TIME IS NOW. The mention here of the books being opened and greater understanding and revelation being given connected to a time of hectic busyness is interesting. It is as if God was saying this period of business this time when people’s lives are filled with activity there will be some who find a way in to the heart of God and to them the books will be opened.
Daniel 12:4But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Disciplining yourself to spend quality time daily waiting upon God will reap great rewards for those who do it, however it will be the hardest thing you have tried to do. The devil will do anything he can to stop you. This opposition will serve to prove how determined we are to find our way through to another level in out walk with God. There will be some of you who understand that God is no respecter of persons, some of you will find your way across the dessert of complacency and find the answers needed to reach your generation.
Esther 4:14For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
