Taking Hold of Your Destiny Part 1

Taking Hold of Your Destiny  Part  1
The world we live in suffers from a profound lack of purpose, surveys show that most people don’t have any real sense of purpose to their lives. When questions like, who am I? Where did I come from?  Why am I here? Go unanswered, life becomes meaningless. The lie of evolution no matter how absurd, when believed reduces man to insignificance, and his private world to a routine of inconsequence. This loss of dignity is plunging the world into a grave-yard of abandoned hopes and dreams where many just give up as their view of themselves and this world, distils into hopelessness.
Proverbs 29:18Where there is no vision, the people  many perish:  The human spirit although encased within a physical body and soul,  longs to fulfill its destiny.

A survey of Medical Practitioners revealed that the majority of their patients suffered from no diagnosable condition. They were suffering from a profound lack of purpose, their lives where meaningless.
King David asked the question long ago, who are we? What is man?
Psalms 8:4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

David must have lay on his back many times looking up at the stars pondering these questions of life, questioning what it was all about and one night the answer came.
Pslmsa 8:5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
His mind must have gone back to Adam and Eve and Gods commission to them.
Genesis 1:26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Created in the image and likeness of God:  This physical form and inner qualities that were given to Adam were far superior to that of the created world and animal kingdom. Adam was like God in both form and attributes. God is love, and Adam was imbued with the very motivating force and essence of God, LOVE. All of creation recognized this divine quality in Adam and submitted to him. After the fall these qualities in Adam and Eve were lost beneath a Soul that had undergone change in nature, a soul that chose independence from God now emanated the one they had submitted to.
Romans 6:16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

The long way back
Ever since paradise was lost man has continually sought to find it again. The history of the human race has been that of man trying to find his way back to paradise and Satan offering him substitutes.
God of course saw all this from the beginning, and back there in the past ages of antiquity God gave a promise
Genesis 3:15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The promise of things to come, the seed of the woman Jesus, would bruise the head of Satan and bring about the restoration of all things. And again the lion would lie down with the lamb and love would prevail over all things,
Isaiah 65:23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
The promise of a new world, a kingdom where love justice and peace prevail is a vision, an assured reality that this generation needs to be made aware of.
The promise given at the birth of Jesus was:
Luke 2:14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Every Christmas these words are sung, but the reality seems very elusive as we see this world continuing to descend into lawlessness and evil. However the promise stands firm, and we continue to pray;
Matthew 6:10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

We have an incredible destiny.
Romans 8:18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
