Part 11 Trust the Lord Psalms 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Part 11 Trust the Lord
Psalms 4:5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
A few years ago the Lord spoke to me in a dream saying “any areas where we are not dependant upon Him are marked  for trouble, the trouble will bring us back to dependence upon Him, and anything we are not using for the Kingdom of God we will eventually loose”
I was pondering this in connection with the present state of the world, and the realization that this has never been so relevant to us than today. We have seen the loss of billions of dollars worth of property one the last few years. St Louis alone lost several billions of dollars worth of property in the last hurricane, most of which is not covered by insurance.  The bird flu looms on the horizon like a foreboding biblical plague. It is estimated that if this flu becomes a pandemic over 75 million people will die. Our hospital systems are already overloaded to the point of collapse with no immediate indication of anything changing.  The cost of social security has become a major concern of most western nations, and the prognosis is not good. Superannuation funds are precarious at the best. An economic analyst recently inferred that superannuation funds would not be around forever and would be the first to go in the event of a major recession.
This raises the question, where do we truly place our security for the days that lie ahead?  There is no point in closing the door after the horse has bolted.  Your own personal world can totally change overnight, recessions happen this way, and by the way, we are well overdue for a major recession. During a recession money does not disappear it just changes hands, property priced plunge and those with cash buy up these properties for a fraction of there original value and there is an exchange that takes place. Christians need to be mindful of these realities as there is coming a time when much will need to be acquired for the Kingdom of God.
Proverbs 13:22bthe wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
As the days ahead get darker we will have to trust the Lord at a new level, now is the time to be established in our trust in the Lord for all things. Man puts all his trust in money and that is final thing that God takes away from Christians so that their whole trust may be in the Lord.
Revelation 13:17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Establish credit with the Lord now: give like you have never given before for times are coming when you will not be able to.
Ecclestastes 11:1Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
2Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
4He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
6In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
If you are waiting for a right time to give, a time when you are more affluent you will not be prepared for the days that lie ahead.
Dark times are coming; but the good news is:
Isaiah 60:1Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
God Bless youJames N Johnson © 2005
