Part 2Birth Pangs of a New Day
As I write this we are on the eve of Pentecost 50 days from Passover and we are half way though the year. I guess we all feel that time seems to be passing much quicker than it used to, however the days in which we are now living will prove to be momentous historic time in church history. There is no doubt that we are poised to see ever increasing great moves of God in the earth.
The turmoil continues in Indonesia with East Timor erupting into bloodshed and violence as warring demonic spirits struggle for control, and the city of Yogjacarta succumbing to a massive earthquake. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and it is never without significance when turmoil erupts in that nation. Often what happens in Indonesia is a precursor to coming problems with Islamic extremists, and once again we see Australian armed on the firing line in East Timor. History has shown that some nations are a trigger for the shaping of events around the world and Indonesia is one such nation I refer to Indonesia and East Timor as one, even thou East Timor has achieved independence, the same ruling spirits control both.
| Matthew 24:6 | And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
| 7 | For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. |
| 8 | All these are the beginning of sorrows. |
Jesus was saying that these happenings were just the birth pangs for even greater events. Both Good and evil are maturing together and creation continues to groan under the load. As the earth continues to groan and erupt under the pressure and conflict between light and darkness we will see increasingly God move in power to continue to gather the harvest in.
| James 5:7 | Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. |
Jesus said when we see these things happening in the earth we are to look up for our redemption draweth near.
| Luke 21:25 | And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; |
| 26 | Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. |
| 28 | And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. |
We need to what for activity in the regions of the ring of fire, the earthquake prone zones around the world as activity increases in these areas so also spiritual activity will increase, expect God to move in some these areas. These signs of disturbances in the earth are prophetic of spiritual activity.
Earthquakes are especially good monitors of spiritual activity.
| Revelation 6:12 | And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; |
| 13 | And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. |
| 14 | And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. |
| 15 | And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; |
| Revelation 8:5 | And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. |
| 6 | And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. |
| Revelation 9:2 | And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, (Volcano)as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. |
| 3 | And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. |
As we see more and more activity around the earthquake zone known as the ring of fire, Be encourages these are just birth pangs of a coming new day> We need to pray for minimization of loss of life in these areas and for great spiritual awakening as a result of these convulsions of nature
