Recovering Lost Truths The secret of the Lords table part 1

Part 13 Recovering Lost Truths
The secret of the Lords table part 1
We are going to take a fresh look at the Lords Table or communion and its importance and place in these end times.

The true value of communion has been lost and needs to be recovered in order for Christians to become all that God intends them to be in these last days.
Many partake of communion considering the Bread and the Wine to be just symbols or emblems of the Lords body and blood, or partake as a religious act, not understanding the purpose of communion.
Unless we understand the meaning and purpose of communion we cannot receive the benefits afforded by it. These benefits are no longer being weak, sickly or dying prematurely.
1 Corinthians 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.(or die)
The apostle Paul here explains, because many partake of communion not really knowing what they are doing, thus not partaking of the benefits.
We need to look at some of the Greek words in Ist Cor 11.
1 Corinthians 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
The word Unworthily Gk 371. anaxios, an-ax-ee'-oce; adv. from G370; irreverently:--unworthily.
Unworthily: The meaning is to partake lightly or without understanding.
1 Corinthians 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
Discerning 1252. diakrino, dee-ak-ree'-no; from G1223 and G2919; to separate thoroughly,
To separate; Making a difference between normal food (bread) and the Bread of communion. See verse 34.
When we come to the Lords table we are entering into a reverential act of partaking of the Life and power of the Lord Jesus himself.
When Jesus fed the multitudes with the loaves and fishes, then they returned to ask for more, He said to them that He had something far better for them
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Jesus offered them a more real, a higher life, one in which they would not die, they only had to eat of His flesh and blood
John 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
They could not understand this and many left Him.
The primary application of this word is (he that eats will live for ever) applies to our eternal life in heaven in a glorified body. However there is a secondary meaning to this.
The last enemy to be overcome is DEATH 1 "Corinthians 15:26". There will be a generation that will not die physically. Those who are alive, at the coming of the lord; there will also be many in these last days who, like Enoch of old will be translated.
Jesus is offering a quality of life, health, and longevity of life far beyond that which is possible without the Lord.
There is something that most Christians miss when they come to the lords table, that is, this act of taking communion transcends the natural into the spiritual as we partake of the body and blood of Jesus.
The people could not understand what Jesus was talking about, and He could not at that time explain it to them. Jesus had to finish His ministry of death and resurrection, thus becoming a life giving spirit.
When Jesus ministry was finished, the night before His crucifixion, Jesus was able now to explain this to His disciples. Remember Jesus had said, "Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you." John 6:53. Now he explains this on the night before He died.
1 Corinthians 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Notice, He did not say this is a symbol of my body which was broken for you. Then He took the cup and said this is my blood.
While the Catholic doctrine of Transubstantiation teaches that the bread and wine LITERALY becomes the Body and blood of Jesus, we are not saying this, however don't throw out the baby with the bath water.
Matthew 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
Jesus took the bread and blessed it. When Jesus blessed anything His life flows into it. Just as when part of Paul's clothing had the life of God imparted to the cloth and that life healed many. So when God blessed the Bread and wine, life was imparted.
2127.Blessed it: eulogeo, yoo-log-eh'-o; from a comp. of G2095 and G3056; to speak well of, i.e. (religiously) to bless (thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper):
This is a key: Paul said don't treat this as common bread it has been blessed, so make a difference between this bread and common bread
1 Corinthians 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
Unworthily: 371. anaxios, an-ax-ee'-oce; adv. from G370; irreverently:
Discerning: 1252. diakrino, dee-ak-ree'-no; from G1223 and G2919; to separate thoroughly,
Separate thoroughly from common bread and Holy bread.
When Jesus took the loves and fishes and blessed them, something happened to the Bread and fish. Life entered and it kept multiplying. Even so, when Jesus blessed the bread and wine, life was imparted.
Please meditate on these end time truths, allowing revelation come to your heart and minds.
We will continue with this next week.
God Bless you
